Dellamorte

Welcome to the rambling thoughts of artist Calluna Dellamorte. Today we will explore medical curiosities, rogue taxidermy, fashions of years past, classic and contemporary art, Victoriana, steampunk culture, post-apocalyptic couture, and whatever else strikes my fancy.

The Artist

My photo
Calluna Dellamorte
United States
My style is best described as neo-grotesque, as I am drawn to the anomalous, the macabre, anything that transcends the mundane. My subject matter reflects interests from childhood, reimagining ancient gods and myths in a contemporary environment, exploring old-time art and science from apothecaries and curiosity cabinets. It was largely necessity that lead me to collage as a medium. Mixed media, assemblage, and collage allowed me to work with little space for large canvases or the funds for expensive paints and brushes. Although I still enjoy dabbling with oils or acrylics, my true love is still working with antique photographs, ink, wax, knickknacks, and whatever else I’ve found laying about, anything that can be glued down to a solid surface.
